Maybe your words DID get through to him, and I hope they did. Unfortunately, he is so deep into anger and denial, maybe I am just making it worse. And that scares me because we both know who he will take it out on.
We tried. I'll have to live with that.
Thanks again for your caring effort.
Linda
No about the psych thing... I wasn't talking about you....more about me!
Anyway I had a word, very gently. Don't know if it will make any difference though....
I do know what you mean about amateur psychiatry...........being a CL on an anxiety forum puts me in the position of having to "practice" it every day!
There are a lot of really messed up people out there. The suicides are the most difficult for me to deal with.
I really appreciate ANYTHING you can say to this guy. He and I have come to a parting of the ways and his anger is now directed towards me personally. He won't listen to anything from me now, so perhaps a "new voice" will calm him down.
My last post to him probably really set him off, but if he isn't willing to train the dog, I just want him to keep her safely on a leash. I don't think he will and it's my guess she won't survive very long.
Thanks again for your help in this, ginger. If you get any poodles with panic, give me a holler.
Peace
Linda
Hi Lydia.
Big worry this whole thing, I completely understand you must be upset about it all. This guy has serious anger issues. Whatever you or anybody else says will only fuel his anger. He is defending himself against criticism, and now he's full of guilt and any recriminations are making his guilt even worse....thus MORE anger.
What to do about someone with these anger issues....probable history of violence and gosh-knows what else -at a distance, when they obviously don't want anyone to tell them they have committed acts of cruelty....?
Those dogs need help. He;'s taking out his frustrations against everything and everybody on them. If anyone knew who he was, they could call animal welfare services.....but that's the big thing....no-one does know who he is!
I honestly don't think whatever anyone says to him is going to make him change his spots....unless he finds Jesus, or something PDQ.
I probably shouldn't do this, but I'll go take another look. If I feel I should, I'll carefully see if there is anything I CAN say or do??
I am aware that any attempts at amateur psychiatry on the internet are usually bad news, but will see how the land lies....
