I am not a doctor but if a person is sick you treat them by taking them to the doctor. A person who starves themself is sick By not eating They hurt their organs by starving themself .So if a person is drunk do you let them Drive No! So if they don't eat do you let them starve to death

Hi!
This is a highly debatable topic and well beyond the scope of my reply. However, the major issue with anorexia is the degree of anorexia. If it is so bad that it may harm a patient’s life then you may need to resort to parenteral nutrition—even if it is forced. The main ethics involved here is doing your best to save the life of patient. However, if the degree of anorexia is mild then usually counseling and medications help the person realize his problem and the person starts eating. In such cases force feeding is not required. However, yes, constant effort of the medical team and support of friends and relatives goes a long way in helping a person recover.
However, people may agree or disagree with this line of thought and hence as I said earlier, it is a highly debatable topic. Hope this helps. Take care!

The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you. The advice may not be completely correct for you as the doctor cannot examine you and does not know your complete medical history. Hence this reply to your post should only be considered as a guiding line and you must consult your doctor at the earliest for your medical problem.
