Is anyone out there

This forum is like my life...afraid to say much, when i do, no one listens. Being in this forum just increases my loneliness.

I don't really understand why therapists won't take you on as a patient or why doctors aren't helping you. Sometimes doctors (and therapists) don't have the answers as to what is going on with us, as much as we wish they did. More often we just haven't found the right doctor/therapist or type of doctor or therapist. Keep trying. If someone says they can't take you as a patient ask for a referral for someone who can. Some things may be out of the area of expertise of one person but they might have suggestions as to who might be better able to help.

As for this forum, it's kind of the same thing. I respond regularly on this forum and a couple others on topics I know a fair amount about. But if there is a question I don't know anything about I just don't respond and hope someone else will be able to help. Don't take it personally. Don't give up your efforts to find help. And also look in your own life for who might be some support to you whether it is a relative, a friend of the family or a teacher. Also give OA a try because that is somewhere that everyone with an eating disorder is welcome!

Yes, lots! you r right about the professional, the problem is that i cant find one due to my medical status I can not into any programs, and therapists wont take me on as a patient.  I have posted questions, or at least I thought they were...just no replies. I am not extremely underwieght, yet I havent had a period for 2 yrs. When I tell doctors if asked..no comments or tests..just that look of disbelief.  I dont have any support and am not sure what to do. There is so much that i would like to post and reply, but the strength is not available to me. I have lost control of my ed..cant figure out what to do.  Thanx for the reply.

Do you have an eating disorder question?

Forums, unfortunately are not real life. If you seriously need to talk to someone, I suggest a friend, family member or mental health professional.
