:) Thank you for answering! No I don't drink soda except one in a while when I don't have another choice. My main problem is sugar... more tired I get the more I want to ea.. and I just don't know how not to buy when I'm at the cafeteria at the university and I crave it... and it is there..
Oh gosh, don't even say "if I have a box". It's been close to ten years since I stopped "having a box" (of cookies, brownies, whatever) in my kitchen. As I eventually came to recognize that I just could not manage them. I would buy them with every good intention in the world of having just one or two after meals that day, and, Every Darn Time, the box would be empty by night time. Every time!
Sigh! Anyway, an interim coping measure was to haunt stores that have bulk food aisles where you can buy cookies in any quantity, so I'd only buy 2 or 3 at a time there. That helped (actually, that helped a lot -- it satisifed my sugar/tasty treat craving without leaving an ENORMOUS TEMPTATION within reach in my kitchen), and it also got me off my backside more often, and added a modest but useful barrier towards acquiring sweets.
Do you like soda pop? I used to be addicted, even having two 2-liter (a liter's bigger than a U.S. quart) bottles on some days. I was only able to switch by transitioning to a yucky brand, and then no longer stocking the yucky brand in my kitchen.
Nowadays, I'm somewhat of a health nut (verging on vegan vegetarian, a gradual state that just sorta grew on me) and have lost all interest in any sweets (could never have imagined that ten years ago, but life goes on). I don't miss it at all.
