Endometreosis?

I have been having issues with my lady bits since giving birth 9 months ago. I put in an IUD after a few months post partum. I had been having pain up to that point, but that was to be expected because I had just given birth lol

The entire time the IUD I would get these cramping attacks, in the middle of my cycle. And my periods were intense with pain and very heavy bleeding (I figured this was just part of having an IUD). Until during intercourse with my husband I got such a searing intense pain I couldn't even walk. I was nearly crying it was so bad. I couldn't even get dressed it hurt so bad so I just put on a robe (which was still difficult) and went to the ER. They had me wait for 25 minutes while doubling over in pain and crying in the waiting room. By time I was seen it had started to calm down.

They only gave a pelvic exam and sent me on my way with some aspirin. I was so emberassed.

Then my periods began being irregular and every month I became worried about pregnancy, despite having the IUD in. I was fed up and got it removed. It turned out the metal was twisted up and was probably hurting me, even tho the emergency room people said I was just having normal cramps. I was relieved to have it out now tho.

Then I completely missed a period. I was sure I had to be pregnant because I have never just missed periods. I did a pregnancy test and two came up very faintly positive. I was excited but wanted to wait to test again. Then I started getting agonizing cramping (felt more like contractions than cramps) . and then started bleeding heavily after passing a really weird clot thing.

I went to the ER the next day. They checked me out and said it was 'just a period' . they were rude and treated me like I was either a hypochondriac or an overly dramatic weak woman. I was mortified because I went to the er thinking I was having a miscarriage.

Now today mid cycle I suddenly started having contraction type pains that feel hot and stabby, like my uterus is folding in on itself so I can't even walk. Takes my breath away, and makes me feel like I have to go number 2 almost. Pain in my actual vagina, my anus(sorry tmi lol), and a through my uterus, but mostly pain more to my right side.

I am so frustrated I don't know what to do.I can't chase my baby around when this is happening.

When they checked me out last month at the er I did't have any infection, they said everything looked normal in the ultrasound, and the male Dr. Made me to feel very embarrassed.

I don't know what to do or what this could be. They say everything is normal, but this pain simply is not. But I don't want to see another Dr. Because I am convinced they won't listen.

Is this what endo feels like? Or is it totally different?

These problems only showed up after having a baby. Can having a baby give you endo?

My sister may have it and has had a cyst removed.

Just so frustrated with my body.

Thank you to anyone who might reply .

Sorry to hear what you're going through. I think sometimes when healthcare workers don't know how to fix something, they tend to victim blame. You say this is unusual different pain, so I'm not sure if that is endo, it could be. From your symptoms though, it sounds more like a ruptured cyst, when you had that sharp pain that gradually subsided. My friend gets cysts often, just the regular functional kind of cysts that tend to burst, and that's how she describes the pain. But then you said you had a positive pregnancy test, and then passed a large clot, so maybe you have miscarried. I would just let your body calm down if you're not in too much excruciating pain. Our bodies can do some crazy things. See how you feel in a bit, if it continues, then maybe seek a endometriosis specialist. hope you feel better!

I am really sorry about the treatment you have gotten. As sad as it is this is the norm when it comes to women with Endometriosis.

Pregnancy does not cause Endometriosis however it can make the Endo progress rapidly due to hormonal changes after child birth.

Were you ever on the birth control pill for a long period of time during your teens or 20's?

Was your sister diagnosed with Endo? When they removed the cyst did they say it was endo? it is very important to get your surgical reports because some doctors do not discuss anything after the fact and the patient is left in the dark.

If a family member has Endo it puts you at a higher risk in having endo.

Endo has been found in fetus's which now is being said that you are born with Endo and nothing like child birth or anything else causes it. Some women have no pain and some have dibilitating pain and it doesn't matter how extensive it is as one person may suffer with Stage I and be in severe pain while another with Stage IV could have no pain and vice versa.

If you let me know where about's you live I can help you find an Endo specialist who will take what you are saying seriously.

Let me know.
