Hello, I have never posted before but I have read that these discussion forums can help. The doctors are pretty positive that I have endo, I went to my normal gyno and also went and got a second opinion. Apparently, I have cysts on my ovaries that rupture whenever I start my period. I have been in and out of the ER so many times that they probably think I'm a regular by now. After a certain point, I stopped going to the ER when the pain gets so bad and just take sleeping pills to attempt to sleep off the pain, but this doesn't always work.
My doctor wanted me to try to use different birth controls to manage the cysts and skip my periods. I know this may sound stupid, but I just don't think that skipping periods can really be healthy for the body. I did this for a while, but I always had break through bleeding and when I did get a period, they were intensified. I have tried the depo shot, which had me bleeding for three months straight and the NuvaRing which seemed to give no relief as well.
After looking for any sort of relief, I went to my gyno and asked him if it was a good idea to go off of birth control and attempt to manage the endometriosis naturally. He said that it would be fine to try if I wanted to. So, I have been. And now the endometriosis has taken over my life entirely. I used to only get the pain when my period started, but now it is daily. My back is a lot of pain all of time...and I mean ALL THE TIME. I am so overcome with fatigue that I can't focus on anything other than trying to find a solution to this pain. I just feel as though no one understands this pain, they think there is a simple solution and there isn't. I go back to the doctor on July 27th and he wants me to schedule surgery then. I just hope that the surgery will give some relief. He also suggested going on the Lupron shot after surgery...has anyone had success with this? The side effects completely terrify me!
