Thankyou
No I had'nt been told I had Endometriosis then so maybe it's like you say that it was'nt detected
I did'nt know what to expect with the hystoscopy other than having a closer look,
I live in Portugal so sometimes there is a language barrier but I feel better now having read your reply, thankyou,
The miscarriage happened 14 years ago, it was heartbreaking as I had tried to concieve for so long and like most women I did always wonder why,
I remember having a scan done at 8 weeks following a bleed and they said everything was fine at that time, would'nt they have seen it then?
So if they didn't give you the CA-125 cancer screening test in my opinion they don't think it is cancerous. That is just my opinion because usually when they are unsure or they think it could be they send you for that.
Most Endometrial polyps are benign only about 0.5% of endometrial polyps contain adenocarcinoma cells (cancer) so that is a good thing.
The hystoscopy will get a closer look and they will remove the polyp and biopsy it again.
There is a chance at recurrence as well so I thought that I would let you know that as well.
You could have had this for a while hence the miscarriage.
Hi,
Yes the Doctor said it was endrometial but she also said it could be a polyp,
I have'nt had anything like this in the past, I had a baby when I was 21 but I became infertile after that right up until I concieved at the age of 40 and I had a miscarrage.
On the ultrasound photo i saw it was kind of long triangular shaped.
They did'nt give me a blood test and I'm still waiting for the biopsy results, maybe they will tell me when I go for a scan on the 12th of June,
I'm really grateful for your reply, Thankyou
Did they tell you that they think it might be Endometriosis hence you posting on here? Or have you had it in the past?
If so there is a process they do. They usually do an U/S and in your case a biopsy since it was visually present and not hidden somewhere else in the pelvic cavity, wait, and see if there are changes in a couple of months.
The fact that they are waiting could be because they don't think its cancer and that they are ruling out other issues.
Did they give you a CA-125 blood test ?
Was the lump a cyst? if so what type of cyst was it. That could help me calm you down if I knew.
Did you have Endometriosis?
