Im a Postman and been diagnosed with a abductors tendon tear

Im a Postman and been diagnosed with a abductor tendon tear. I have trouble raising my left !eg/ foot to climb stairs, getting into my car and sitting down/ standing up. I also get pain putting my sick and shoe on. The pain is near the crease of my thigh and pelvis and radiates to my front thigh, knee, shin and foot. It's been 8 weeks now and am doing exercises but it's still a big problem. Seem to be getting nowhere. Any help or advice please?

No expert here, but from what I can tell as long as you continue to work you're probably going to have a hard time healing quickly.  As with most tears, rest, ice, and elevation are the main prescription, and you're not resting, or at least it appears you continue to do work that stresses the area.  Postal benefits are quite good, as is the insurance, so aren't you able to take time off, or did you do that already and it didn't work?

I’ve been off for 7 weeks. Have another 2 off. I’ve read that you need to get active as that aids the healing. My biggest problem will be delivering to flats but then do I need to get those muscles working again as they’re obviously weakened by 2 months inactivity
Well, you certainly took the requisite time off.  Wish I could be of more help, but my injuries, which are many, haven't responded all that quickly either when I've gotten them.  Hope you find a better answer than I can give.
