If you are very overweight and you begin a healthy diet, it is possible to lose 5-10lbs in a week.  That actually would be fluid retention loss and not fat loss.

In the first two weeks if you are following a strict eating plan under medical direction, it would not be unhealthy to lose that amount.

If you continued to eat and drink like before and your exercise regime was the same and you lost that amount in 2 weeks, then there would be reason for concern and it would be wise to see a doctor to find out the underlying cause of that amount of loss in a short space of time.

You would not be able to sustain to lose 5lbs every week and there would come a time when your body would stabilise and the weight loss could fluctuate.

The medical profession recommend that losing 1 to 2lbs every week is a healthy way of losing weight.

Losing weight very quickly, and especially if you have lots to lose, can leave saggy skin.

You can find information on the web, or your doctor or dietician can give you details of the calorie intake that you should consume to sustain a healthy weight loss and this would be dependent on your age, height and weight and how active you are.

As we get older we lose elasticity in our skin.  Because of this, a fast weight loss in a short space of time will leave saggy skin.  This saggy skin does not get back to the way it used to be no matter what exercises you do.  Surgery is usually the only option to remove the hanging and saggy skin.

Stick to a healthy and well balanced diet.  You will find information on the web and you will also find on the web information and a diagram of a "Healthy Eating Plate".  This shows the portion sizes of the foods that we should aim to eat.

If you have lots of weight to lose, it is worth speaking to your doctor for his help and advice and a referral to a dietician.

Weight loss clubs can also help you with losing weight safely.  The down side is that there is a fee involved, the plus side is that you can make new friends and have a support group to lean on.

Its not unhealthy if you are over weight and follow a healthy diet and exercise routine to lose weight. Take proper nutrient food and continue your weight loss program to achieve your goal. I am loosing 1 to 2lbs every week with ,my daily workout plan and my diet pills(Regenon/Tenuate Retard).

It depends on your weight. If you're less than 110 pounds then yes. If you're not and have a high bmi, it's possible and healthy.
