Cardio problems

I gereral have problems whenever i do any vigorous cardio workout. Sometimes i get cramps and tightness in my calfs, but typically depends how hydrated i am and if i am breathing correctly. but the problem the concerns me the most is when i am conditioning and i get a sharp, shooting pain in the right side in my chest. Usually disapates in a few minutes but forces me to slow down. Also when running my feet tend to swell alittle and being to feel pain, usually goes away when i cool down alittle. Also i sometimes notice when my feet swell i might have a vein bulging alittle in my legs. occasionally, i have problems with fatique. Whenever i am conditioning for a sport, i have a hard time making progress in terms of being more in shape, when gets very annoying. This hasn't always been the case, it started in freshman year of highschool. Any suggestion would help. in case u need it

im 16, 5'10'', 165lbs, not a smoker, and have allergies.

Hello!

At your age I would not suggest intense workouts and weights. You can go for sports, swimming and running.

The most important thing is to have a healthy breakfast and proper diet at your age and also wearing proper shoes for all forms of exercises.

With any cardiac symptoms like pain in the chest, swelling of your legs I would suggest you to get an evaluation near a cardiologist and rule out any cardiac problems. With normal cardiovascular system you will have no issues and you can slowly exercise and indulge in sports. Slowly increase the intensity and acclimatize yourself. Take the help of a trainer or coach.

Take care!

Hello Hermes,

Welcome to the Pain Management Forum.

Have you discussed these symptoms with your parents? Are they aware of your concerns?

I hate to guess at what all your symptoms could mean. It does not seem "normal" to me that a healthy 16 year old should be experiencing these symptoms with activity. However I am not an expert and know little about adolescent medical issues.  I do beleive you should be seen fore a good clinical evaluation.

I'll also request that your post be referred to a more appropriate forum that may offer you better suggestions.

Best of lcuk and please take care.
