I don't know if the type of surgery you had would allow for it, but you could ask your doctor about doing some physical therapy. Since you aren't 100% positive what your limitations are, but know how to exercise when you are completely healthy, it sounds like you need some medicinal guidance in staying in shape while you're on the mend. If insurance doesn't want to pay for it because they deem it unnecessary, you could pay for just one session to get a home program and learn what you can do without undoing your surgery. Just an idea. Also pay special attention to your diet, and you won't feel like you're gaining weight while you're on the mend.
Hello!
You can always lose the extra baggage once you start getting physical. Eat healthy and avoid fats and plan a proper diet chart and as I suggested increase the time of your walks progressively.
Take care!
Thank you for your reply. I am not allowed to do any running for six weeks to allow for the plug to mesh with my tissue. I am only allowed to do light walking, basically to and from. It's going to be hard 6 weeks because I am so active and I already notice a difference on my body! Any other suggestions?
Hello!
I would suggest you to progressively increase your time of walks and then start jogging after a week if your surgeon allows you.
Let the healing take place perfectly and then go for swimming as there is always a chance for infection after your surgical procedure.
Take care!
