Should I choose myopic surgery?

I have posterior subcapsular cataracts and will have them removed in July.  I have the choice to have one eye corrected for reading and the other for distance.  I have worn a reading contact for years so I am comfortable with this.  Has anyone had this type of correction?   What happens if the "reading eye" perscription changes?  Do you then have to wear a contact anyway?

If you have been wearing a reading contact for years, you are already familiar with monovision.  If it works well for you, then why switch to something else?  (Try going without your reading contact to see what your vision would be like with both eyes set for distance.)  Glasses or contacts can always be used to reverse monovision or to improve near/distance acuity.
