hi.. it's been almost 4 months since my surgery,, my vision still is wavy and circular object looks to me oval and bit more distant than they actually are.
any advise/observation on normal recovery...
Thank you and have a nice day. :)
Go with the physician that you are seeing now. That is the only one that can see how your eye is healing. Also read all the side effects of prolonged steroids. You are also being treated for glaucoma. Its possible that you might have "steroid glaucoma" from your prolonged use of steroid drops.

actually i moved to another country after surgery and according to my surgeon i was supposed to use steroid drops for about 3 to 4 months; however the new doctor examined me a couple of days ago and advised to stop using them; its been 52 days since surgery as of today.
I am confused due to difference of opinion between my surgeon and the new doctor that i am seeing for post-op followup. cant disagree with the new dr but i was looking for your opinion if i continue steroid drops for another month would it be harmful? I am using FML-NEO( Allergan). The new dr gave me combigan (allergan) for IOP and Hylo Gel as lubricant.
Steroids do not reduce risk of infection they are an anti-inflammatory medication and use varies considerably with scleral buckle surgery so can't generalize. Your surgeon will need to advise.
Hi John,
Please advise for a healthy person in general; how long steroid eye drops should be used after scleral buckle surgery to avoid any kind of infection etc.
your response would be highly appreciated.
Best of luck with your healing
