Larry, please let us know if your eye doctor has any insight (so to speak) into this problem.
Yes you need to see an Eye MD ophthalmologist not a non-MD, non-physician optometrist.

I recently updated my glasses and there was no indication of eye disease. The optometrist tested for dry eye, which indicated that tear production is below normal. He gave me some eye drops but they haven't solved the problem. I'll request my primary doctor for a referal to an eye MD. Thanks for your thoughts.
