This is very uncommon for a female of your age. Please see a retina specialist.

Thanks for your response. The diagnosis of retinoschisis was from a retina specialist after lots & lots of computer photos and yellow dye. My regular ophthamologist had wanted the retina specialist's opinion on what he called an "irregularity" and a fast growing cataract. The joint decision was that cataract removal should wait. I became extremely nearsighted when I was 12 years old & had an extended bout of pars planitis in my 20's and optic neurtis later on. Unfortunately, I don't remember which eye & records no longer available. I'm also fortunate to have "benign" RR mulitple sclerosis. Retina specialist told me no treatment or cure and didn't expect improvement.
Thanks so much for answering. I've scheduled follow-up visits with retina specialist & regular ophth but I've decided not to spend the $$ and time on a second medial opinion.
Knowing that either diagnosis requires no treatment is reassuring. Thanks again.
