Chalazion Surgery

Hello, I'm very sorry if this has already been asked before. I did do the search through and such, but I didn't really see anything like my case. There were a few cases similiar, but yeah. Is it abit selfish of me wanting an answer directly to my problem? :l. /blush

Anyway, I first developed a Chalazion about 11 months ago. It wasn't that noticable, and I was just hopeful that it would right itself after a few months. Alas, luck was not on my side, and it's sorta infected half my eyelid, the bottom eyelid of the right eye. When I say half, there's only two, but they're rather.. large, and red. And at the current moment, very obvious.

However, on May the 13th, I did have Chalazion Surgery. The Doctor removed both, and gave me an eye patch to keep on for I think 2 hours, and to use eye drops twice a day for 5 days. I did all that, but clumsey me totally forgot to ask about the healing process. So, I did some internet scanning, and to my knowledge, and Chalazion is not fully drained right away. It will persist for around 4 weeks afterwards, till it starts to.. deflate, is that correct?

Anyway, it's only been 3 weeks (soon coming up to 4 weeks), and they haven't got smaller. They've actually got *bigger*. And not only that, they're still hard, like the puss is still very much there. I'm not quite sure what to do, since this bloody eye thing has already taken alot out of my work days, and I don't really think work would permit me *more* time off, especially since it's only technically cosmetic.. ¬_¬

Should I go back to the Doctor, or just wait it out? Is it usual for them to still be quite hard, even after surgery/3 weeks later?

If you forget to ask something when you remember it you call the surgeon's office speak with the nurses or technicians who get an answer from the surgeon and you have specific advice for you specific problem. I must answer 5-15 phone calls a day this way.
Call your surgeon.

Be sure you are regularly using Occusoft foaming eyelid cleaner or SterLid Foam eyelid cleaner to prevent new ones from forming.
