Change in My Sphere

I've used several different eye practices over the years and they don't ask for a previous history. I was surprised by my new script so I looked up one from about 5 years ago. My left eye has stayed about the same but my right eye has changed.
My current script at age 27:
Sphere.    Cyl
-6.00         -5.25

From when I was 22:
Sphere.      Cyl
-3.75           -5.00

I looked this up after my appointment so I haven't had the chance to talk to a doctor about this. Should this much change in my sphere be worrying?

At age 27 you should have had the glasses refraction don after your eyes were dilated, called a post cyclopegic refraction. If it was done without dilation it is possible that the new stronger sphere (-6.00) may be due to what is called 'pseudo-myopia due to accommodation"     If your glasses RX was done that way then yes you could have gonne 3 diopters more myopic. However at age 27 it is unusual to have a 3 diopter increase from age 22 to agd 27.
