In general corneal abrasions do not change your refraction. I have seen one patient who I have followed for many years have a change in astigmatism after a corneal abrasion.
Dr. O.
That is what I thought, but it seems weird that now I cannot see after the abrasion. How do you lose your vision like that all of a sudden and it has nothing to do with the abrasion. They couldn't explain that to me and just said "well it happens". Thank you for getting back to me I appreciate it.
In the am I am having discomfort when I open my eyes and he did nothing about that. Just told me eventually it will go away? At this point I don't know. I am thinking I need to get a second opinion on this. I haven't had any issues with my eyes at all in over 14 yrs and they kept telling me since I had no recent records they couldn't say for sure that I was 20/20. I didn't have any recent records since my sight in both eyes was clear. I could count leaves on a tree. Now, I cannot. They are telling me that I have been like this for a while almost like they do not believe me. Honestly, I am really upset about this and I feel I am not getting the care I need.
I just noticed something I have never seen before as well, at night looking at street lights my right eye (the one that didn't get damaged) lights are round. The other eye that had the abrasion shows a boomerang shape. I tried googling it, but there is nothing out there about it.
If you know anything about this I would love to hear it.
Thank you for replying!
