Failed Amsler Test Teenager

Hi,
I am 19 years old and today I found that some text was distorted when I was reading. I took a quick Amsler test and I found that my right eye failed.

There is a blurry patch to the left of my central vision where the lines seem to curve inwards towards a point.I do not have a family history of Macular Degeneration whatsoever.

I would like to know if this could be just a temporary phenomenon that I should wait a few days to go away. I find this very annoying as I can see a blurry and distorted patch whenever I am reading or looking at smaller details.

Is there anything I can do to fix this problem?

This sounds like a new problem so I would get in to see an Eye MD ophthalmologist as soon as possible. Find one near you at www.aao.org or ask your family MD for a referral.

I would also like to know if there are any other possible causes for failing the Amsler Test.
