Dark spot

During the day, I see just fine. When its night and I lie in bed, I look at my clock. Its dark but when I look next to it, its bright. When my sister turns on the bathroom light down the hall, I look at it, it's dark. I look next to it, its bright. Its been going on for months now and ever sense I've had it, I've been receiving more head aches. Is this serious? What should I do?
