Looking for advice on exotropia realignment with scleral buckle in place

I recently (2 mos) underwent a vitrectomy and cataract removal in hopes of regaining some vision in my left eye that was lost during a retinal detachment caused by Coats disease (diagnosis at age 8, I'm 37/female now).  Unfortunately, it looks like no vision will be returning (currently only have roughly 1/4 of LL peripheral).  I had a scleral buckle procedure done when I was 17 which has is now surrounded by extensive scar tissue.  Since the buckle, I've noticed exotropia setting in that has become worse as the years progress.  I'm looking for advice regarding attempting an exotropic realignment in the fall and hoping for advice on success rates as well as possible risks.  Also very open to recommendations on surgeons that may have experience with this (I live in Southern California but willing to travel nationwide for the right doctor).  Thank you for any help!

Your prognosis is not good for several reasons: most important the eye has no good vision. So its like a ship without a rudder. The most helpful thing with eye muscles surgery is good vision in both eyes and the ability of the brain to keep in alignment (fusion).  Second you have had surgery on this eye which creates scarring and adhesions and makes leaving the eye straight much more unpredictable.   The eye muscle (strabismus) clinic at USC or UCLA would be fine places to go.
