Subcapsular cataract is not usually "worse" than other types of cataract in the sense that it doesn't mean you have worse eye disease.  However this type of cataract can be very visually annoying even when it is relatively mild.  Patients with subcapsular cataract tend to have surgery sooner than those with nuclear sclerosis cataract or cortical cataract.
