Droopy Eyelids -- Blepharoplasty

Three years ago, I posted here about a problematic chalazion I had. It made my eyelid look really droopy, so I went ahead with the chalazion surgery. The chalazion is long gone, but my eyelid never returned back to normal. As a result, that lid is droopy (weakened muscles?) and really bugs me.

I think in order to fix this, I would need to go through a blepharoplasty, right?

I spoke to two doctors about this. One told me that only a cosmetic surgeon would be able to fix this as it's a cosmetic issue. I would have to pay out of my own pocket.

Another time, I brought my grandmother to see an ophthalmologist about her eye problems and quickly asked about mine as well. He told me he would be able to fix my eyelids and because it is health-related, it would be covered by health care.

I'm really confused -- which doctor would be best for this procedure? I am, of course, very worried about the result of such a surgery because I would hate for it to look worse than now if done improperly.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

If the eyelid blocks part of your visual field superiorly which I'm sure it does most insurance companies WOULD pay for the surgery. You do need to see an oculoplastic surgeon. Find one near you at www.aao.org

So I did some research about the ophthalmologist and as it turns out, he also does "oculoplastics and ocular oncology". Not sure if that makes a difference in the answer to my question above. Thanks!
