Four days after my 2nd ReStor IOL implant, I'm reporting very good news. After several unsuccessful weeks of trying to adapt my left (dominant) eye to Crystalens, my eye doctor exhcanged the Crystalens for a ReStor last Thurday, Dec. 13. I also have a ReStor in my right eye, which was giving me good reading and distance, but poor intermediate. The doctor selected a power which he thought would provide good intermediate and distance. His choice was evidently a very good one, as now, only 4 days post-op, I have pretty good intermediate and distance, with a little reading help as well. My brain is during the neruo-adaptation, which will probably take several weeks, but I'm already so pleased with my vision. I no longer have that foggy feeling that the blurred vision in my left eye was causing. I feel very comfortable with my new lens and it feels like it's always been there.
I know that diferent IOLs work best with different people. I have a friend who loves her Crystalens (although she does use readers for some reading), and another friend who is happy with monovision lenses and glasses.
If it turns out I need readers, I won't mind wearing them, but at this point, it's looking like things are working out just fine on their own.
Thanks for being here to answer all the questions I've had and help quell my anxiety over the problems I was having with the Crystalens.
