My baby's eyes are congenital malformation. What will it be?

I am from China. My son now is 6-month old, and he was born after 33 weeks, 5 days..early. In an examination when he leave hospital after he was born , his eyes were found a congenital malformation, and likely bilateral optic nerve coloboma. And I found that his right eye lens (black part of eye) is smaller than the left one.  The attachment is his fundus photography and portrait.
Doctors of two hospitals all said he will only has weak vision. But, now, about 5 month passed, my baby is healthy, and his eyes are normal excepte size. His eyes are flexibel and like to see everywhere. I put a toy car before him, his eyes and head will also follow the moving toy car.
May anyone tell me:
1) Will his vision will be same as a normal person's.
2) Will his right eye lens become large as his left eye lens during his growing.
3) Are there ways to test his vision.

May you help me?
Thanks.

I cannot get the clear answers from my local pediatric opthalmologist. So I have to search in internet for help.

Can you tell me the size of a person's eye lens can grow larger and larger as his age increase? Because I ever heard that the eye lens have fixed size after he was born. But I'm not sure it is true. Every part of a person, such as head, hand, leg, nose, will grow larger and larger. How about eye lens?
