In young age extensive near work is associated with high progression of myopia. All kinds of outdoor activity seem to be a protective factor.
So all low risk sports could be recommended. Hurting the eye must be avoided.

Live a healthy life!
Smoking, diabetes, high blood pressure ruin the small vessels not only in your eyes.

Never heard that jogging or swimming could hurt your eyes, even if you are high myope.
If you are cautious avoid contact sports that may cause trauma. I swim regularly and I am a high myope who had lasik. Exercise is good for you. If you had lasik it means that your myopia has stabilised. Did your doctor advise you anaything?

Thanks Dr O,

I know there are risks associated with high myopia, so i was wondering about the chances of leading a healthy normal life till old age. How about exercises like jogging , skip rope, swimming etc.

And I heard too much close work is also not good. So maybe work may need to be changed as well...?

Thanks again Doctor.

Avoid trauma to eye and get routine eye exams from an EyeMD to check the retina.
