Am I Being Stupid If I Wear Glasses

I'm a med student and I study a lot. I do a lot of study on the computer.
In the last few months I've been getting achy eye muscles when i look laterally and random twitches of strabismus when i focus in on things, even just when I'm chopping vegetables. I can read okay but my eyes are definitely worn out and blurry after a few hours.

So I got a voucher for a half price eye exam and took it, because I'd never had my eyes examined before. The trainee optician examined me first and said I was +0.25 in both eyes. So she brought in her supervisor, who gave me the final prescription of +0.75 in both eyes and 0.25 astigmatism. She said she got that result because she pushed me (whatever that means). She didn't seem to think I should bother with the glasses. I'm 24 and coming up to exams I might study 13 hours a day. Am I better off just ignoring the mild signs of eye strain if I can still read okay?

My feeling exactly. If you are a medical student make an appointment for an eye exam in the department of ophthalmology. You need a refraction with "fogging technique and 'push plus'  then a post cycloplegic refraction to determine total amount of latent hyperopia if any.

oh and another thing. apparently i my optic discs are "0.2 tilted". i googled this and all the results are rather frightening, but the optician didn't seem concerned at all. so what is this?
