Please respond to my last question. I do have a second opinion scheduled but is many weeks out. Can a malpositioned/tilted or wrong IOL cause damage to my eye?
Thank you. Reason I asked is the day I had surgery, hospital mixed my chart up with another patient. Staff caught the error. Hope they did not mix up lens.
I had an IOL sutured in because of earlier eye trauma. Lens power 17.5. No know astigmatism before. Unless possible surgical induced astigmatism??
Here is my eye before surgery.
+9.00 + 0.50 x 120 20/20 (aphakic)
after surgery lens implanted.
-1.00 + 5 25 x 112 20/100 + 2
I have blurry, doubled vision of lights, really no vision at all. Doc tried to fit me with glasses refractive error to great and would not work. He hasn't explained much else. I am just looking for some answers.
Wrong power IOL would result in a refractive error with the astigmatism about equal to the corneal astigmatism.
A de-centered or tilt IOL would lead to a refractive error where the astigmatism would not match the corneal astigmatism. However, this would depend on the magnitude of the problem.
