Multi-coloured ghost images!?

I'm 20, Male, eye exam 4 months ago - all A-okay. I have minor astigmatism in both eyes, and don't wear glasses. I've always noticed ghost images, except last night I noticed on this one particular street light that is naturally white-LED, from a certain distance - it has ghost images, although each image is blue/green/slight red, but as I get closer it corrects itself and the light forms all together just like all other ghost images I see on some things. Putting my finger infront of my eye (pinhole effect) when seeing this, it completely disappears, NO other light source does this, although my friends told me there were able to create this by slightly squinting (diffraction?). Although my ghost image seems to always there but gets dispersed/clears up if I squint or look through small hole. BOTH eyes can do this.

Ghost images are a common cause of posting. As we've said there are many possible causes. Most relate to the cornea and refractive errors (myopia, hyperopia and especially astigmatism). Creating a pin hole effect often makes them better or disappear especially if glasses/refractive problem.  Squinting or blinking can make better or worse.  A dry cornea can cause ghosting and blur. Gets better with frequent blinking and/or using artificial tears.
Thankyou Hagan, is it my astigmatism casing it or would you say it's dry eyes? Because enough blinking seems to get rid of it, or at least make it barely ghost. How come this certain light shows its colors splitting sometimes - is it because the dry eyes/astigmatism is diffracting the white light? It ''merges'' together with enough blinking most the time, I think I've become too hyper aware.
You are asking me to parse out your problem beyond the limitations of the internet.  Seeing a prismatic splitting into colors denotes some refracting surface, they cornea or the lens opening up white light into the ROYGBIV spectra.  Why not all the time? Same reason you don't see rainbows all the time. Needs the right setting and circumstances.

Update: I went and looked again, it completely disperses/disappears  when I blink over, I guess it's the water surface smothering/diffraction from dry eyes... sorry for making a fuss. John Hagan, I've been reading your dry eye section - thankyou.
