For two years I've had what I can describe as purple blotches in my vision starting from the periphery. They look like an afterglow from a camera flash that goes off in your face. When I blink, they show up quite clearly for a split second. I can also see them more clearly in the dark. They are always in the same place. They don't move, but they have grown bigger since initially seen two years ago. Initially, they manifested in the left eye only, but now they affect both of my eyes, with a particularly big one in my right eye, affecting a quarter of my vision.
I have been diagnosed with increased intraocular pressure managed by eye drops (Alphagan P and Ganfort). They seem to have started around the time I began taking Ganfort but I cannot say for sure. Prior to Ganfort, I was on Xalacom for a number of years.
I have been to a retina specialist who found nothing abormal with my retina. I had an ERG done as well as an OCT which were clear. I worry that these blotches will continue growing in size and that I will go blind. Does anyone else have a similar condition?
