My mother-in-law is a Type 2 Diabetic, and has Glaucoma. She has been monitored for years, but recently a lot of problems have arised. The pressure in her eye is through the roof, and her vision was beginning to suffer. She was also told that there is a great possibility that she would lose her sight entirely. Her eye Dr. prescribed her drops (still waiting on list from her), which she was using as directed. Her vision improved slightly, however when she went for a check-up two days ago, she was told that the drops were eating away at her cornea, that she must stop them immediately. Since stopping the drops, her vision has depleted almost entirely, she is extremely sensitive to light, and her eyes are watering and she is in very extreme pain. She is going to see a surgeon for a consultation next week, but in the meantime I am trying to find out any information that may help her. I would like to try to gather a list of Drs in the Georgia area that specialize in the treatment of this glaucoma, possibly with surgery. Any information would be appreciated.
