If you had macular hole surgery you had a macular hole. Current state of the art cannot fix all the damage of a hole (can't make it a perfect macula). Except for the smallest holes and partial thickness holes most cases that are "successful" and close the hole do not have perfect vision, have distortion, abnormal Amsler grids, subnomral vision.
Clarify that with your surgeons.

THe macular hole I have been told is healed , My question is whether it is possible for a retina to heal? I am being told the inky spot is because of the photosensitivity during surgery. No one is telling me I have a retina hole is that what I should be looking at ? Is that a different thing all together ?

It is far more likely that the retinal hole is causing the problem rather than light toxicity.
Most cases of retinal hole surgery do not restore normal vison but stabalize the situation and keep the hole from getting wider and deeper.
