In November 2009 my left eye was 20/100 and my right eye 20/70. In November 2010 my left eye was 20/50 and my right eye 20/40. Whereas I was told some months ago that I needed cataract surgery, on my visit to the retinologist last Tuesday he said I no longer needed surgery.
Since the time of my first eye exam a year ago I have been using eye drops containing 1 per cent l-carnosine (used in Europe for cataracts) and eye drops with a 7.5 per cent solution of MSM (in distilled water). Not only has my visual acuity improved greatly, but the arcus senilis has darkened and narrowed, and my eyes are brighter because the corneas are now clear. I also have macular degeneration in my left eye. the gray cloud is still there, but it is thinner and has empty spots. I can now read through it. My retinologist wants to see me in six months to test for further improvements. My regular MD is now offering these drops to patients with my type of eye problems.
It is true that there are only sketchy trials for these drops. There is a Russian study (Russians initiated the treatment) and a patent application which includes a trial. I am a pragmatist. It works. That is all I need to know.
Nothing that has been fully tested and available to the public. 99+% of the stuff sold over the counter and the internet including similison is worthless.
