Had cataract surgery 5 months ago, suffered cystoid macular edema which has apparently gone now. Suffering a number of problems which might or might not be related to the CME. I've uploaded a picture which might explain the images I'm seeing. Note that the other eye is next to useless so all of these effects are the same with that eye closed.
In case the link doesn't work:
Blurring
Ghosting (or is it double vision?)
Cloudy
Halos and streaks of light
Frequent blinking to "clear" vision
Squinting to reduce blurring/ghosting
Astigmatism (2-o’clock direction)
Smudged sight (smeared down to 8-o’clock direction)
Glasses only slightly help
Reading is most difficult; computer/distance is easier than reading
Difficult to see at night
Visual field seems ok, as are colours
If you can see the picture, the one most odd is the one that looks like a stick figure of a man. The yellow blob is a light. Above it is the halo. But below it are two opposing lines that curve and cross each other forming the "trunk" and "legs". Roughly where they cross is another line which forms the arm, the right hand of which suddenly bends upwards, and also a sort of zig-zag at the elbow.
None of these symptoms (except halos which are fair enough for IOLs) were present just after the operation (September 2010) but came into being whilst having the CME. Vision went from 0.26logMAR pre-op, right up to 1.24 (November), down to 0.8 (January) and now it seems to have levelled out at 0.7 for the last month.
Any ideas please?
