PVD at 31 w/o high myopia

I have a posterior vitreous detachment in my left eye, causing a large black ring shaped floater "weiss ring"? What I'd like to ask is whether anyone knows of a reason for this to occur, I have some myopia in the eye -2.5, no myopia in the right eye. I have had significant problems with the eye for the last 6 months leading to a possible diagnosis of "superior oblique myokymia" from a neurologist. I have had CT and MRI to the head which have been unrevealing so far. I have a significant amount of pain and discomfort around and behind the eye, feeling like a pushing pressure. I can't help but think that these symptoms must be related in some way, they all came on suddenly with no history of any problems. No other problems with the eye, no eye muscle weakness, retina problems, eye pressure is normal.

I could have posted your exact post! I have superior oblique myokymia - 4th nerve palsy and recently experienced PVD all on the left eye.  I use reading glasses and prisms for the double vision, but I can still see and read without much difficulty. I believe they are related.
