Partial vision loss in both eyes

what does it mean when you have sudden blurred vision in both eyes with jagged 'crystaline like' edges in the visual field? Lasted about 20 minutes at around 10am today. I was not out partying last night!!! And was sitting on the couch working on editing photos when it started. No headache or any pain... just vision loss. History: cotton wool spots in eye, resolved, 2008, paralyzed stomach from surgery, 2006, trauma to pancreas, 2006, bladder cancer, 2006, other than that I am healthy. Blood pressure runs extremely low but with occasional spikes. When this started blood pressure was 158/93.  Usually it runs 112/72.  Colesterol levels are were low before the stomach/panceas issues. Not sure what they are now.  is this something that should be looked into or can I ignore it?

No cotton wool spots are entirely different. They represent damage to nerve fiber layer. Remember that the spots of TIA and other helth problems can look like migraine.

I found pics on google search that look just like what I saw... or very, very close.  Is an eye migraine scotoma the same thing as a cotton wool spot? I had a cotton wool spot two years ago and my doctor said it might be related to my gastro problems.  If these two things are the same then I should be sure to remind him of the one in 2008.
Thank you,
Walking.

It can mean serious disease of the eye, brain, heart or blood vessels or TIA (transient ischemic attack), by these being excluded it can also mean a migraine variant called ophthalmic or "eye" migraines.

You need to see an ophthalmologist and your personal physician to start working towards a cause.
