I have been getting this shot every six weeks since about March. I'll tell you, it doesn't get any easier! But it's not at all painful, I just find it very anxiety-provoking. The nurse will put a speculum (?) in your eye to keep it open. Then you get numbing drops over and over and over until your eye is completely numb (it seemd they use a whole bottle of drops!) Then they will put more numbing medication directly on the point where the injection will go in. Then the call the "injector" - the doctor. You look at at a point in the corner of the ceiling and then poof - it's done in a flash! Like I say, the anticipation is much worse than the actual shot!

Anesthetic and antibiotics put in eye. Eye grasp, needle study in white of eye, Avastin injected.
