Purple spots in vision when driving at night?

Whenever I am driving at night I am seeing purple spots almost the color of a black light. Not sure if these are just after images from the headlights and signs but it has started to alarm me. I have seen 2 eye doctors one being an ophthalmologist and all has checked out fine with my eyes. Is this a normal phenomenon or something I should see an neurologist for? My primary says I am fine and blames it on anxiety which is frustrating

If you post a question and it doesn't show up, just open another comment box and just type one letter in it and press 'submit comment' If is some kind of software problem they can't fix on MedHelp.org        Any bright light often triggers an "after-image'   If you only are concerned about purple spots at night,  That is not likely worth the time and expense of seeing a neurologist.

Are there any sort of issues that would make one more prone to seeing an after image? I see them very easily from lights. I can stare at it for like 3 seconds and see an after image...
Anxious, depressed and OCD people tend to latch on to things like entoptic phenomena and after-images
