Random Eye Swelling

Im 23, and for the past 9 months i have experienced random eye swelling, in both eyes, whether it happens one at a time or both at once. Usually during the night when im sleeping my eyes feel itchy then begin to swell instantly... The swelling can last up to 48 hours and i have tried all the steroidal eye drops and anti-histamines,.. I have only found ice packs to really help reduce the swelling more rapidly, I can be wahing my face and out of nowhere i look up and BAM! Swollen eye, or at work just standing there.. i have never been allergic to anything and this really came out of nowhere and it is miserable,..I have two dogs and i also go out often, i was suggested to take a allergy test but im hestitant because i dont know if it will really work?... Is this a treatable irritation or eye disease or is it really a freak allergy that i need to be tested for?

Warm compresses with a clean washcloth/gauze pad/or cotton ball.
Gently clean your upper and lower eyelash areas with a moistened Qtip, using a new clean Qtip for each one.

First change your pillow.  Next start a detailed log of what you are doing, location, what your are using.  You have to be your own detective.

Look at any change in food, vitamins supplements, detergents, cosmetics, vitamins, etc.

Allergy test can be helpful, but frequently, it will show you are allergic to many household items.
