Recent scleral buckle and rubbing eyes causing complications?

I am about two weeks out from a scleral buckle surgery and overall things have been healing fine. My eye has been itchy the last couple days and I have been doing my best to avoid rubbing my eyes.

Will rubbing my eyes increase chances of messing up the buckle like causing displacement or break? If possible, aside from decrease in vision, is there pain or bleeding associated with a misplaced or otherwise affected buckle?

My doctor said I no longer had restrictions and I can go back to living as normal as possible. I rubbed it earlier today, fairly cautiously, but enough that the itch improved. But now it had me wondering. Thank you!

It is never a good idea to run the eye hard especially after surgery.  However a very light 'itch' that does not apply forceful pressure to the eyeball itself is not likely to cause problems. If you have any symptoms please call your surgeon.
