Healthy eye besides the cataract. Hitting target and eliminating astigmatism.
Dr. O.
In my case, my doc found me a good candidate because I was hyperopic, I have smallish pupils, I had virtually no astigmatism, my retinas were healthy, and I'm a fairly relaxed patient who wasn't expecting perfection. Seeing well again, with or w/o readers was all I wanted. My results were far better than I expected.
As for my doctor's qualifications: I've gone to him for years; he is an unusually thoughtful person who does not 'push' surgery though he does a lot of it. He actively considers the best lens for the individual.
In researching lens replacements, you can get a lot simply by googling the lens you are interested in, plus qualifiers like 'far-sightedness,' etc. Some of the sites will be commercial--that is, essentially ads by doctors who do replacements. Their observations, however, are valid, and reading a lot will help you distinguish those who are merely 'selling' from those who are reporting their results. Here is one to read to start with:

You can find a lot of information on your own with an active search, and you will become better informed for doing so.
