when the ophthalmologist Eye MD looks in the at at the peripheral retina just like it sounds the retina there has a whitish appearance. A similiar condition 'white without pressue' means when the Eye MD uses an instrument called a scleral depressor to exam this area it turns white.

The condition is not serious, does not indicate disease never affects vision and is probably due to condtions at the vitreous base/retina interface. Don't worry.
