Retinal Lesions/Please Help!

I had my first comprehensive eye exam at the age of 39 and was told that I had scars on my retina of the left eye. I have since seen a retinal specialist and histoplasmosis and toxoplasmosis have been ruled out. My angioflorescien came back fine and I have no inflammation, leakage, etc. My vision is 20/20 in the non-affected eye and 20/25 in the affected eye. I have been doing some research and discovered that the chicken pox/shingles virus can cause eye damage. I had a bad case of chicken pox as a young child, could this possibly be the problem? My CBC bloodwork was also fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I'm worrying myself sick.

Thank you so much for your response. You have eased my mind tremendously. I have a follow-up appointment with a retinal specialist on Thursday.

I doubt it was chickenpox. I suggest that you have had an adequate work up and if histo and toxo have been ruled out you're in luck and stop worrying.

These types of scars are not unusual, often indeterminate as to cause, and harmless as to disposition.
