regular astigmatism is on the cornea and it means the cornea is aspherical or not round but the surface is smooth but just differences in radius of curvature. Think an American foot ball. A basketball would be spherical or have no astigmatism. Irregular astigmatism means the cornea is not spherical, and not smooth. Think about a mudball with straw and rocks in it that is lopsided. Lasik can correct some irregular astigmatism but not all. You would have to talk to a cornea surgeon who would have to do a corneal topography test to answer your question.
