See vertical lines bent when close to the objects

I had a retinal detachment surgery on my left eye 3 months ago. I discovered that when I am close to some objects like a door, I found that my left eye see the vertical line is a little bent. When I walk back a 5 feet to see it again, it is a little better.
Is it related to the retinal is not perfectly mounted during the surgery ? Or because I have myopia after the surgery.

Thanks

Wilson

I will see the surgeon in 4 weeks and I will ask him this question. Do you think I need to make the appointment earlier
I just tried the Amsler grid.
I didn't see anything bent at 12 to 14 inches. I only found the lines slightly bent when I was less than 6 inches from the grid.
When I mentioned when I found the edge door is slight bent, this only happened when I was less than 3 feet from the door.
I heard that this problem may become better when the brain did some adjustment. Is it true ?

Thanks

Bending of straight lines after RD surgery is so common its almost the rule even if the retina is reattached. It is called metamorphopsia.  Ask your retina surgeon about it. Ask about being given a Amsler grid to monitor at home. If this is new call the surgeon's office now and ask about a extra exam to check it
