Trails in my vision in dim/dark light

Hi,
I have been suffering from trails in my vision for one year now. When I enter a dark or dim lighted room from a light hall, I feel the door frame comes out of it when I am walking into the room. Or when I move my hands in a dim lighted place I see a hallo/trail of the hand following the movement wherever the hand goes. If I follow the moving hand with my eyes I dont see the trail! I only see it when I am not directly following the moving objects. It has been for a year now and it didnt go away in time. Today it is worse that the first time I noticed it. have been at 3 different eye doctors, no problem with eyes according to them (only last doctor said a little irregular cornea surface). Have done MRI of the brain which came normal. I also have developed floaters, starbursting , very dry eyes(eye doctor said it is not much dry!!!), and a little after images and headaches around my forhead since last year as well. Please help, what is happening to my eyes? I have also developed a little after images (for example, when I look at the TV screen at night and then look at a wall I can see the TV screen for a few seconds then it dispear) Can that be something which is called Palinopsia/visual snow? Or can be something else? I am very scared and really need help...

Regards

I'm very interested to know if you ever found the source of your vision issue.  I have over years experienced that very issue. I have chronic dry nose and usually I experienced this upon waking in dark room and then switching on a light. It's a weird anomaly indeed.  But it was never consistent. When it recurred it would freak me out at first. Then effect would fade with more light exposure. I very had a dry nose and dry nasal passages for many years and wonder if that has had something to do with it.

Hei Riss2000,
I have had this trails in vision issue for almost two years now. Hopefully, I have learned to live with it and if I am lucky I hope that it will not get worse in time. I couldn't find the exact reason for this issue but it may be related to dryness, I have dry eyes.

Use the search feature and archives. There are several long, informative discussions threads and I've commented in them many times.

He doctor, went through all the relevant discussions today, but didnt get a probable cause for this. Dr Hegan, can irregular cornea surface cause this trails in vision? I am having appointment with a cornea specialist in the next 4 months (its a pain to wait for a long time in north europ), please let me know if a little cornea irregularity can really cause this!? Seems like my eyes do not receive/centralize the lights quickly! I am a female 28 years old working with computer a lot! and had eye LASEK surgery to remove glasses 4 years ago(all of these vision problems started to happen since July 2016).
Irregular astigmatism would not be a common cause. In any case that should be easy to diagnose with a cornea topography and the cornea ophthalmologist should do one if you have not already had one. I know nothing about visual snow and pallanopsia. I know it exists on the internet and wikipedia but I have never had a patient come in with that complaint. If it is coming from your cornea contact lens (rigid) or femtosecond laser or drops to keep your pupil small (alphagan P) might help  Also be sure you don't have dry eyes.  Try putting in a brand name artificial tear minimum of 4 times/day for a couple of weeks and see if that helps and use the 15/15/15 (numbers vary) while at your computer look up every 15 minutes look at something farther than 15 feet and blink firmly 10-15 times. This wets the cornea and relaxes the focus muscle.
Hei Dr. Thanks for the advise. I will check the cornea next 4 months at the hospital. I have to add that I have always had dry eyes (in the mornings) with some sort of pain on my eye surface after the LASEK surgery but didnt have vision problems after surgery. The Trails has started since last year and the dry eyes has got worse(now I cannot open my eyes without eyedrope in the mornings) and I am using eyes drops regulary since last year. And just before the trails appear, for some days I experienced  a type of pressure around my eyes when I was closing my eyes to sleep(like an unintentional spasm/pressure on the muscles which push eyelids to each other), and then a few days later I started to see the trail. Dont know how these things can be connected! and on the internet I have found that most of people with trails issue have had sleeping disorders (and I used to have sleeping disorders for a few years before this as well, now my sleep is fine but the trail is still there). To sum up, I dont know how I can connect these things together. Thanks dr, I know that you have already said what you knew. I hope no one can experience such a rare/strange thing in their life.
Maybe someone will comment and give you some useful information
