Vision Issue

Help, please. This issue has been going on for about a year now. I have high health anxiety. One day I noticed floaters and became concerned about a brain tumor. I thought “well at least I don’t have double vision.”  That same day, I noticed objects that were up close were blurred, but not really double. I became even more worried. I noticed that when looking at objects up close, the objects in the background would be blurred/double. Example—someone is sitting in front of me. I either have to focus on their head or focus on what’s in front of them. Whatever I’m not focusing on is blurred/double. Things in the distance are just fine. It’s only on up close objects, or mid distance. A little more than an arm length away. Or, I have bird pop on my windshield. If I’m not focusing on it, it’s double. But I can refocus and make it a singular object again, but what’s in the background becomes blurry/doubles. I’m assuming it’s binocular in nature bc closing one eye helps. This is why I’m concerned about a brain tumor. About 7 months before I noticed the vision issue (and maybe it’s been longer than a year and I never realized it?), I had an mri and neuro appt and it was fine. This was due to some vision concerns at that time. Was send to an ophthalmologist and was diagnosed with an optic nerve drusen. I am so concerned about a brain tumor and the fact this has been going on for almost a year.

Thanks. I believe mine to be binocular which means it’s neurological based, not something like cataracts. I had an eye exam a few months ago, and there wasn’t anything showing up besides the optic nerve Drusen that I already had been diagnosed with. Thanks!

I should add…I am female, 43, co fact wearer. I have always had terrible vision and it has never felt “crisp” even with new co facts/glasses.
Also, I’d I’m looking through a camera, everything is as clear as can be!

What really needs to be worked on is your over the top anxiety.  Hopefully you realize that and are seeing a psychologist and/or a psychiatrist.  New advances in targeted therapy can make therapy so much more effective.      None of your symptoms remotely suggest a brain tumor. Foaters are not a sign of brain tumor. The other problems are hyperawareness of normal phenomena. Read about "presbyopia" its why near vision starts to fail in the 40's. Read about "physiological double vision (diplopia).    If you do not wear reading glasses or bifocals you soon will. If a person focuses on a near object (say 18 inches) the objects at distance will be blurry and double. If you focus on something at distance (20 ft or more) and hold a pencil up in front of you 18 inches away it will appear double and blurry as long as you maintain your distance focus.  Don't go through the rest of your life like this. Maybe head over to an anxiety forum.
You are a bit young for cataracts, but I will mention that my first symptom of a cataract, which at the time was in one eye only, was double vision. I never really noticed the clouding of vision, but I did see double. A red or green traffic light would have two images. A standard eye exam with an optometrist should identify whether or not you have cataracts developing. Sometimes they occur in the 40's rather than in the more typical late 60's or 70's.
