Vitrectomy and Cataract Surgery

I had vitrectomy surgery last july 21 to take out hemorrhage in my left eye. During the surgery, the doctor (retina specialist) found out that my retina was severely detached placed gas bubble accordingly and told me to hang my head for about six weeks for 22 hrs. daily. The first week, according to my doctor, cataract progressed rapidly because I did not hang my head properly. So in the succeeding weeks until the 8th week, I followed exactly his instruction. Cataract surgery was performed on October 6 in order for him to finish "welding" the retina.
My problem right now after the cataract surgery, my vision is a little hazy around the corners of my eye except the center part and the image are wavy and seemed small than normal.
Please tell me what is this or please advise on what to do.
Thank you! More power!

Thank you very much for your quick response.
Unfortunately my retina doctor diagnosed my problem that my left eye have a "white line" near the capsule due to my previous vitrectomy and can be taken out after 3 to 6 months by laser but no guarantee.
God Bless!

It sounds like you might have an epiretinal membrane (scar tissue) in your eye.  Your retina specialist can determine whether this is the case.

If you continue to have problems with a smaller image size, then you have retinally-induced aniseikonia.  There is an excellent (although fairly technical) paper about diagnosing and treating this condition by Dr. Gerard de Wit, which can be downloaded free from his website at www opticaldiagnostics com.  (It's hard to find the article on the website, but keep looking--it's there.)
