Thank you, Dr. O, so very much! Can you suggest the name(s) and contact information of doctors who are specialists in Optic Disc Drusen? I have had one disc with swelling and bleeding around the drusen, resulting in some apprently permanent vision loss (a year now). I am afraid this might happen in the other eye, too. I saw my local ophthamologist, and he knows retinas, but doesn't seem that familiar with ODD. I wonder if I should see someone with that specialization. Or, maybe as he told me, there isn't anything I can do to prevent such things and there is no remedy.
Not much is know about optic nerve head drusen. They are associated with nerve fiber layer defects and choroidal neovascularization. Unfortunately, there is no treatment. You may consider seeing a neuro-ophthalmologist.
