Weak eyelid muscles after external DCR surgery

Hi I had the DCR surgery about ten days ago. The operation went well and seems to be working however my eyelid does not fully close when I blink. I'm really worried . The consultant said that it may be due to swelling of the eyelid area. Has anyone else had this problem?

I had DCR surgery in 2007 for a blocked tear duct. I've had problems with my eye ever since included severe dryness. It's wrong to offer DCR as the first choice when clearly less invasive and more 'ideal' choices are available such as balloon dilatation.

by DCR do you mean dacryocystorhinostomy? If so if the lids are swollen then that might be the problem. The swelling should abate soon. If the problem persists ask your surgeon for alternate causes or get a second opinion
